I am thrilled to share an incredible milestone in my journey as a filmmaker. Recently, I had the privilege of directing the photography for the after-conference video of the EU-organized “Supporting the Future of Syria and the Region” Brussels Conferences. This event was a beacon of hope, focusing on sustainable solutions and support for Syria and its neighboring countries.

A Conference with a Purpose
The Brussels Conference brought together a diverse group of brilliant minds, passionate advocates, and influential policymakers. Their common goal was clear: to find sustainable pathways for the future of Syria and the surrounding region. Being part of such a significant event was not just professionally rewarding but personally inspiring. It underscored the power of collaborative efforts in addressing global challenges.

Crafting the Visual Narrative
As the director, my mission was to encapsulate the essence and impact of the conference through a compelling visual narrative. Collaborating with a talented crew of filmmakers, including Cave, Michael, and Robin, we aimed to highlight the key moments, insightful discussions, and powerful presentations that defined the conference. Our objective was to create a video that not only documented the event but also conveyed its profound significance.

The Technical Arsenal
To bring this story to life, we employed a range of top-tier equipment and techniques:
- Cameras: Three Sony FX6 cameras, known for their exceptional image quality and dynamic range.
- Audio: One boom mic, ensuring crisp and clear sound capture.
- Stabilization: A DJI Ronin 3 Pro, providing smooth and dynamic shots.
- Support: A couple of Sachtler tripods for stable and steady framing.
- Lighting: A three-point light setup was used for interviews to ensure perfect illumination and depth.
- Framing: We arranged the composition of the location meticulously to create stunning frames for the interviews.
All shoots in the main room were handheld or on a gimbal, adding a dynamic and immersive feel to the footage.
Our dedicated crew consisted of:
- Two Cameramen: Capturing multiple angles and perspectives.
- Director of Photography (DoP) and Director: Orchestrating the visual storytelling.
- Producer: Coordinating the production logistics.
- Audio Engineer: Ensuring the highest audio quality.

Gratitude and Reflection
I am deeply grateful to IMPACT MEDIA EUROPE for entrusting me with this important project. This experience has reinforced my belief in the power of film to raise awareness, foster empathy, and drive meaningful action. The video we created aims to spread the conference’s key messages and promote continued support for Syria’s future.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the EU for organizing this crucial event and to everyone involved for their dedication and hard work. Together, we can make a difference.
Let’s continue to use our talents and platforms to support positive change in the world. Stay tuned for the release of the after-conference video!
